Behavioral Questions
Tips:
- Bring a copy of your resume and know it well
- Remember important group and individual projects you've worked on, academic or work-related
Skills needed to think through Behavioral Case:
- Soft skills (friendly, presence)
- Ability to work in a team/as an individual
- Pass the Airport Test: If your plane was delayed, could you hold a conversation with the person next to you?
Examples:
- Have you ever held a leadership role and had something go wrong with your project?”
- Someone on your team is not pulling their weight. What do you do?”
- Tell me about a time when you were under pressure for a project.”
- What kind of approach do you take when starting an individual project? How do you organize yourself? Did you set up a timeline with your boss? How do you maintain communication with your boss?”
- Tell me about a really challenging project/ordeal you went through and how you did it.”
- Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years? What is your ideal job?”
- How does your major prepare you for this job? Why did you pick your major?”
- How did you hear about [Company name]? What brings you here? Why do you want to work for [company]?”
- Why did you decide to go to [your school]?
- What sets you apart from other candidates?
